Caring for the Environment

We will operate in an environmentally responsible manner through systematic management of our environmental impacts, measurement of our performance, and setting challenging performance targets. We will improve the efficiency of all our activities to minimize material and energy use and waste generation. We aim to find opportunities to use renewable materials and recycle our waste.

HSE Strategic Objective

In line with applicable local laws, OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001-2004 Standards and global customers’ expectations.

  • Effectively eliminate workplace injuries and occupational illnesses for all staff involved in the company’s operations.
  • HSE Management of associated matters is a line responsibility. A structured integrated management system’s approach to ensure safe and uninterrupted business operations, without harm to the environment.
  • Occupational Health & Safety risks arising out from workplace factors and conditions are assessed, eliminated, or adequately controlled.
  • Reduce the people impact arising from the company’s operations, products, processes and services. That is, business success through HSE excellence.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

One of the company’s primary responsibilities at work is to ensure the safety of its employees. We all have a responsibility in this regard – for our own safety and the safety of the people around Us, including our families.

The company has a systematic approach to health, safety, and environment (HSE). It is designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws. It aims to concurrently achieve continuous performance improvement, aligned with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Pursue the Goal of causing no harm to people and embrace the responsibility to protect the environment. Provide and maintain safe facilities, plant and equipment systems and working conditions. It assures that there is no work-related risk to the health of its employees, Contractors, or the host community in which it operates.

HSE is a line responsibility. The line sets targets for improvement and the company integrates them with the performance management system.

Takes measures to minimize waste, prevent pollution, and conserve natural resources. Includes HSE performance in the appraisal of relevant staff. Rewards and recognizes HSE merit.

Strives to make HSE an essential part of business operations, including business planning, its implementation, and decision-making.

Requires contractors to manage HSE in line with this policy. Provides risk and need based training to employees for improving HSE performance at all levels. Plays a leading role in HSE ‘best practice’ in Pakistan’s textile industry and internationally.

Effluent Treatment Plant

ITL’s Effluent Treatment Plant facility has continued to meet all national environmental quality standards as well as the U.S. EPA limits for the national pollutant discharge elimination system (NPDES). It is a matter of considerable professional recognition for International Textile to meet both sets of standards.

Health & Safety

ITL is wholeheartedly committed to ensuring the safety of its employees. The company has a systematic approach to health, safety, and environment(HSE) which is designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws. The focus is not driven towards short-term numerical results. It is to ensure the long-term wellness of our people and environment around occupational health and safety initiatives (OHS). The HSE policy aims to concurrently achieve continuous performance improvement, aligned with OHSAS 18001 and IOS 14001 standards.

ITL is fully committed to zero fatalities and Lost-time injuries. The HSE policy strictly follows local regulatory requirements as well as global HSE benchmarks. The company believes in transparency and has ensured that complete reporting takes place for workplace safety incidents, occupational illnesses, and significant spills. This is in line with the protection of health and safety in the working environment.

Green Energy

ITL’s Solar Energy System is the key to these energy resources because they don’t harm the environment through factors such as releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
